We all know how to roast a marshmallow over the fire, and how to BURN a marshmallow over the fire. But do you know how to roast THE PERFECT MARSHMALLOW?

You might try to put it on a thick stick so it cooks from inside out instead of the other way around…OR you might try putting it farther away from the fire so it cooks slowly and carefully. But if you want tips on how to cook the PERFECT marshmallow, here are 5 starters.

- Cook it right at the bottom of the fire in the ashes, (but be careful not to touch them with your marshmallow!) instead of on the edge of it. This helps it roast really well and it will be nice and brown on the outside.

- Put ONE marshmallow on each stick so it cooks by itself and doesn’t have to share the warm heat with any other marshmallow. If you put two marshmallows or more, they won’t cook very well and only the edges will roast properly.

- Spin the stick that you have your marshmallow on slowly in the fire so it cooks on all sides.

- Put the marshmallow on a wooden stick that is very freshly picked so it’s not too dry. A dry stick could lead to burning the marshmallow.

- Put it on the very edge of where the light of the fire ends, so it cooks nice golden brown on the outside, and soft and chewy on the inside.

These 5 tips will help you roast the perfect marshmallow in every way!

GHOST MALLOW

A ghost mallow is when you roast your marshmallow very slowly on the edge of the fire so it’s all squishy on the inside, and you spread it between your pointer finger and your thumb.

What you’re supposed to do is mush it around your fingers, and then separate your fingers and spread your fingers wide apart. This makes it look like a ghost!…kind of. It also makes your fingers VERY messy so don’t touch your hair when you have it on your fingers! It also tastes good when you lick it off your fingers. If you don’t, then you just wasted a very good marshmallow. I think the whole POINT of a ghost mallow is to eat the yummy soft inside! So have fun making marshmallows over the fire, or being creative and make a ghost mallow!
